He has spent three seasons as a nickel back, but the release of CB Ken Lucas has opened the door to a starting role. Marshall is also entering the final year of his contract.

Hochuli flagged DE Julius Peppers for a roughing-the-passer penalty that wiped out CB Richard Marshall's interception return for a touchdown. Hochuli claimed Peppers made a helmet-to-helmet hit on Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan, but replays appeared to show Peppers hitting Ryan with his shoulder first.
