Seattle Seahawks QB Tarvaris Jackson continues to receive support from head coach Pete Carroll despite another poor preseason showing. Jackson hit 11 of 21 passes for 75 yards and an interception, which was returned for a touchdown, against the Minnesota Vikings. Carroll said the team needs to give Jackson more help and protect him better. The Seahawks' offensive line was manhandled by the Vikings, which led to Jackson spending most of his time on the field running for his life or being knocked down when attempting passes. The interception he threw wasn't his fault, either, as it slid through the hands of WR Golden Tate and into the hands of a defender. Despite QB Charlie Whitehurst looking solid in the second half, hitting 14 of 19 passes for 97 yards and a touchdown, Carroll said there is not a quarterback controversy -- or even a battle -- in Seattle.

I look at it like I'm going to get the chance to be the starter, and I think I can do it. That's what I plan to do. Whenever we figure it out, I'll compete as hard as I can to make that happen."
