Sanchez is competing with QB Kellen Clemens for the spot. "For me, I feel like I'm going to be on the field and that's what you always want to do. You don't grow up dreaming of being a backup, so I'm going to go for it," Sanchez said. "I know Kellen's going to do the same thing, and it's going to be a great competition and I'm excited to compete with him."

QB Kellen Clemens continued to work with the first team Tuesday, June 9, and outperformed rookie QB Mark Sanchez. Sanchez has the stronger arm, and was throwing lasers in a one-on-one drill, but he has to avoid mistakes. He threw an interception during 7-on-7 drills, which was returned for a touchdown. Ryan wants Sanchez to also improve his voice, as he wants Sanchez to be louder and more inflective with his cadence.
