Detroit Lions DT Haloti Ngata feels like his old self this offseason. Head coach Jim Caldwell said Ngata was hampered last season and they didn't get to see how well he could play. Caldwell expects Ngata to play at his ceiling more consistently in 2016.

Detroit Lions DT Haloti Ngata said he is finally settling in with the Lions. "This is totally different," Ngata said Thursday, May 26. "I'm here, family's here so I don't really have to worry about trying to find a house or where we're going to stay, traveling back and forth. I've been here all off-season and it's just been great."

Detroit Lions DT Haloti Ngata re-signed for two years at $12 million, but at 32 years old the team will be keeping him on a year-to-year basis. Ngata received a $4 million signing bonus, and $2 million base, which is all guaranteed. The team can then get out of the current deal by cutting him and taking just a $2 million cap hit next offseason.
