Pittsburgh Steelers LB LaMarr Woodley said he has been working out this season in hopes to avoid the injuries he suffered during the 2012 season. "My offseason is going great. I'm looking forward to getting back with the team in a few weeks," Woodley said. "I've been training since the middle of February. ... It was a disappointing season being 8-8 and not making the playoffs. It was disappointing at the end of the day." There were some criticisms about Woodley's fitness last season.

Pittsburgh Steelers FS Ryan Clark said Monday, Feb. 18, that the anonymous teammate who ripped LB LaMarr Woodley's offseason regimen should have kept the comments in-house. "My biggest problem with that is not LaMarr, or is not someone's feelings about LaMarr," Clark said. "My problem is now it's public ... We all have arguments with our brothers, sisters, cousins, but that stays in-house. What you talk about then stays there and it doesn't get out to the public. So that is the problem ... That shows that this team that is normally close, you had the Joey Porters, the Alan Fanecas, just down the line, leader after leader, this team was close-knit. It shows there is a fracture in that. I think that is the most disappointing thing about that coming out."

An anonymous Pittsburgh Steelers player agreed with the team that LB LaMarr Woodley (hamstring, groin, ankle) must approach his training regimen with more diligence after seeing parts of the past two seasons wiped away by a string of ailments; however, the player went one step further with his comments. "He was awful," the teammate said. "He tells us he works out, but we didn't see it. He wasn't in shape. That has to be a reason why he was always hurt."

The Pittsburgh Steelers believe LB LaMarr Woodley (ankle, groin, hamstring) dealt with several injuries last season, including a training camp groin injury, and an ankle and hamstring injury in the regular season. The team believes that Woodley needs to approach his offseason workouts with more diligence to avoid the kinds of injuries that have dogged him the past two seasons.

Pittsburgh Steelers LB LaMarr Woodley (ankle), WR Emmanuel Sanders (shoulder), SS Troy Polamalu (rest), CB Keenan Lewis (hip) and OLB James Harrison (illness) practiced Friday, Dec. 14, and are probable for Week 15. WR Plaxico Burress (rest) was limited, and LS Greg Warren (illness) and ILB Stevenson Sylvester (illness) didn't practice. They're probable as well.

Pittsburgh Steelers LB LaMarr Woodley (ankle) is expected to play in Week 15 barring any setbacks. "I did everything today," Woodley said. "I practiced the whole time from individual periods to every team period. So I was out there the entire time."
