Updating a previous item, Denver Broncos QB Brady Quinn didn't receive any more than his usual number of snaps in practice Friday, Jan. 6, despite speculation that the team was considering playing him over QB Tim Tebow if Tebow struggled early in the playoff matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend. "The backup quarterback always gets reps," said a team source. "It's no different this week. It's normal for the backup quarterback to get a few reps."

Denver Broncos backup QB Brady Quinn took some of the first-team repetitions from QB Tim Tebow in practice Friday, Jan. 6, although this hasn't been completely confirmed. It is clear that Tebow will start in the Wild Card game against the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday, Jan. 8. "He's on the football team," head coach John Fox said of Quinn, "and everybody on the team's ready. Like every game, we expect our starters to play well. If for some reason an injury occurs or something happens, then it's the next man up. That won't change any more this week than it has all season."

Denver Broncos president John Elway said he doesn't envision QB Brady Quinn spelling QB Tim Tebow if he continues to struggle. "I don't think so, but you never know. I think the coaches are looking at it right now," Elway said. "We're in the playoffs, and the coaching staff is going to do anything they can to help us win this football game."

He will be a free agent at the end of the year, and even if QB Tim Tebow were to get injured, QB Brady Quinn would likely play before Orton. There is still a chance that the Broncos trade Orton before the Oct. 18 deadline.
