Updating a previous report, the contract Washington Redskins DL Adam Carriker agreed to Tuesday, March 13, including a $3 million signing bonus and $700,000 base salary for 2012. He can void the years 2013 through 2015 with a $1 million buyback. The base salaries for 2013 is for $3.7 million, $4.7 million for 2014 and $4.7 million for 2015.

Washington Redskins DL Adam Carriker said he believes he will fit well as a defensive end in the team's new 3-4 defensive alignment, according to Gary Fitzgerald, of Redskins.com. "My body type is more of a 3-4 end, a longer-armed guy. I feel comfortable doing that. Coming out of college that's what a lot of scouts saw me as," Carriker said.

Carriker said he has a 75 percent tear in the subscapularis muscle in the shoulder. The supscapularis is the deepest muscle of the rotator cuff.
