Buccaneers | Mike James' season over

Tue, 12 Nov 2013 12:35:09 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano said RB Mike James (ankle) will miss the rest of the year with a broken left ankle.

Fantasy Tip: This shouldn't be a huge surprised after it was announced last night that he had fractured his ankle. Brian Leonard and Bobby Rainey will combine to split the backfield duties. Both are worth a waiver wire claim as RB depth for your roster.

Buccaneers | Brian Leonard to be primary back

Tue, 12 Nov 2013 09:59:03 -0800

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Brian Leonard will take over as the primary running back after RB Mike James (ankle) fractured his ankle in Week 10. RB Bobby Rainey will back up Leonard.

Fantasy Tip: Leonard should be owned if you are in dire need at the RB position, but mainly just for the increase in workload he'll receive. Don't expect RB2 production all of a sudden, especially since the Bucs will likely mix in Rainey often.

Buccaneers | Peyton Hillis may not make roster

Tue, 13 Aug 2013 15:29:39 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Hillis hasn't looked good in the last two years and isn't a lock for the roster. RB Brian Leonard had a good showing in the first preseason game, and the team likes RB Mike James as an all-around runner.

Buccaneers | Two shine in preseason game

Fri, 09 Aug 2013 12:53:24 -0700

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Brian Leonard and WR Kevin Ogletree shined for the team in the first preseason game. Leonard showed good instincts in picking up blitzes. Ogletree led the team in receptions and yards.

Fantasy Tip: Both players are in depth chart battles, and efforts like they had in their first preseason game will go a long way to helping their cause. Ogletree is an interesting sleeper pick in deeper fantasy football leagues.
