Philadelphia Eagles LB DeMeco Ryans said he believes he can fit in a 3-4 defensive alignment if the team switches defensive alignments next season. "4-3, 3-4, whatever it is this coaching staff is looking for me to do, I'm willing to do it," Ryans said. "And I've done both. So I'm open to whatever it is."

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid said Wednesday, Aug. 1, that LB DeMeco Ryans continues to play with more tempo as he becomes more comfortable with the defense. "DeMeco is playing faster now than he did when we first started out and that's only because he is more comfortable," Reid said. "He'll become even faster after more reps. Most of the installs are in on the defensive side so now he can kind of focus in on the offensive side; all the routes that have been put in and the things that you normally game plan for that you're not able to do during training camp because you're so busy installing your side of the ball. You don't get too caught up with the other side."

And that's completely fine with me," Cushing said. "I feel that last year really prepped me for a leadership role. Leaning from a guy like him for three years, he kind of just groomed me. Philadelphia Eagles LB DeMeco Ryans (Achilles') did not appear to be limited during mandatory minicamp. He suffered the Achilles' injury a few seasons ago. Ryans was basically a two-down defender last season, playing in roughly 58 percent of the defensive snaps for the Houston Texans last season.

Houston Texans LB DeMeco Ryans (elbow) has been able to practice each of the past two days, and head coach Gary Kubiak is happy to have him back. "He has missed a lot of time. It has been a concern, but he's huge to this football team," Kubiak said. "He has looked good in practice the last two days, so we're heading into the right direction."
