"4-3, 3-4, whatever it is this coaching staff is looking for me to do, I'm willing to do it," Ryans said. "And I've done both. So I'm open to whatever it is."

"DeMeco is playing faster now than he did when we first started out and that's only because he is more comfortable," Reid said. "He'll become even faster after more reps. Most of the installs are in on the defensive side so now he can kind of focus in on the offensive side; all the routes that have been put in and the things that you normally game plan for that you're not able to do during training camp because you're so busy installing your side of the ball. You don't get too caught up with the other side."

"I think so. And that's completely fine with me," Cushing said. "I feel that last year really prepped me for a leadership role. Leaning from a guy like him for three years, he kind of just groomed me. It wasn't so much intentional. It's just the kind of player he is, he gives you a leadership sense, he has a certain character about him. He got me ready."

Ryans was basically a two-down defender last season, playing in roughly 58 percent of the defensive snaps for the Houston Texans last season.
