Free-agent RB Laurence Maroney (Broncos) could have trouble making a roster this upcoming season, according to Mike Reiss, of ESPNBoston.com. Maroney is coming off a poor 2010 season, in addition to being charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession last week.

Prosecutors have charged free-agent RB Laurence Maroney (Broncos) with one count of marijuana possession - for the arrest back in January when St. Louis police pulled over a car and busted Maroney and four other people, according to TMZ.com. Police originally booked Maroney for possession of a firearm, but it was later determined he had a permit to carry the gun. Maroney faces up to one year in prison and a $1,000 fine.

Denver Broncos RB Laurence Maroney and three other men were arrested in St. Louis late Monday, Jan. 17, according to KMOV.com St. Louis. Maroney is being held on unlawful weapons charges and drug charges. Maroney has a gun permit, but the permit was in a wallet that was not on him. Maroney believes the police made a mistake in arresting him.
