Atlanta Braves 2B Dan Uggla was hitless in three at-bats with a sacrifice fly Sunday, Aug. 14, against the Chicago Cubs, snapping a 33-game hitting streak, the longest in the majors in five years. "That's more games than I thought I would ever have," Uggla said. His best chance for a hit came in the fifth inning, but 2B Darwin Barney robbed him with a diving catch on a fly ball to shallow right field.

Uggla finished 3-for-3 with three runs scored. The hit streak of 32 games is a franchise record while the team has been located in Atlanta. Tommy Holmes owns the all-time franchise record of 37 games, set back in 1945 when the team was located in Boston.
