Dodgers | Aaron Miles' chances improving

Wed, 23 Mar 2011 09:53:24 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers 2B Aaron Miles' chances of cracking the 25-man roster have improved due to recent injuries to 3B Casey Blake (back) and 2B Jamey Carroll (finger), according to MLB.com's Ken Gurnick. Miles is competing for a utility sot with IFs Juan Castro, Eugenio Velez, Ivan De Jesus and Hector Gimenez. Manager Don Mattingly said he doesn't want De Jesus to be in a bench role in the majors. "I had laser eye surgery during the offseason and I'm seeing better than ever," said Miles. "With the experience I have and now that I'm seeing better, I feel born again in a weird way - like I got a gift." He said his 2009 season was hampered by injuries and family problems.
