Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens SS Bernard Pollard (ribs) said he played a majority of the season with six cracked ribs. Pollard first suffered the injury in the second game of the season, and missed the final three games of the regular season. "It's tough dealing with pain," said Pollard, who led the Ravens with 98 tackles as well as recording two sacks and a forced fumble. "For us as football players, we know we're going to go through it. At the same time, that's the name of the game. Six of them, yep. Hey, it's up to us to go out there and play and we did."

Baltimore Ravens SS Bernard Pollard believes the NFL could cease to exist in 30 years due to the league's emphasis on player safety. Pollard feels fans will get fed up watching more flags thrown for violent hits. "Thirty years from now, I don't think it will be in existence," Pollard said. "I could be wrong. It's just my opinion, but I think with the direction things are going - where they (NFL rules makers) want to lighten up, and they're throwing flags and everything else - there's going to come a point where fans are going to get fed up with it." Pollard is also afraid a player may die during a game. "The league is trying to move in the right direction (with player safety), but, at the same time, (coaches) want bigger, stronger and faster year in and year out," Pollard said. "And that means you're going to keep getting big hits and concussions and blown-out knees. The only thing I'm waiting for ... and, Lord, I hope it doesn't happen ... is a guy dying on the field. We've had everything else happen there except for a death. We understand what we signed up for, and it sucks."
