Terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Updating previous reports, The Associated Press reports Arizona Diamondbacks OF Justin Upton, OF Chris B. Young, P Daniel Schlereth, C Miguel Montero, RP Scott Schoeneweis, RP Doug Slaten, P Brooks Brown, RP Jon Coutlangus, P Clay Zavada, C John Hester and bullpen coach Glenn Sherlock were the sick members of the team due to either food poisoning or a virus going around the clubhouse.

The Dayton Daily News' Hal McCoy reports plenty of questions surrounded the Cincinnati Reds' decision to option RP Jon Coutlangus to Triple-A Louisville and leave RP Todd Coffey on the roster. "A guy like Coffey gives us multiple innings, as do Mike Gosling and Victor Santos, and we're trying to protect our pitching," said general manager Wayne Krivsky. "It was time for (Eddie) Guardado to come up, and the interchangeable part in our eyes was Coutlangus."
