News | Statistics | Player vs. Team | Utilization | Injury History | Depth Chart | Team Roster
Wed, 22 May 2013 20:46:51 -0700 Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush was used as a punt returner during organized team activities (OTAs) Wednesday, May 22. WR Terrence Austin, WR Patrick Edwards, RB Steven Miller, WR Mike Thomas and WR Cody Wilson also took turns returning punts. Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners would definitely like to see Bush off punt returns, as it is just extra chance he can become injured. Nothing is engraved in stone just yet, and Bush will still be an outstanding fantasy option, especially in PPR (points per receptions) leagues.
Wed, 22 May 2013 11:46:12 -0700 Detroit Lions RB Mikel Leshoure (undisclosed) was limited to individual drills during organized team activities Wednesday, May 22, because of an undisclosed injury. Fantasy Tip: Leshoure will be used as a change-of-pace back to Reggie Bush and likely will receive carries near the goal line and when Bush needs to rest. He could be an option in later rounds of fantasy drafts.
Mon, 20 May 2013 17:34:01 -0700 Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson is excited RB Reggie Bush signed with the Lions, because it means teams will have to defend the Lions offense differently. "It's going to force them to bring another man down, more than we had last year," Johnson said on Monday. "You know, if you don't, Reggie can make you look foolish in the open field." Fantasy Tip: An improved running game should help the Lions passing game in 2013, and Johnson may be able to get open a bit easier as a result. Johnson still remains the top wide receiver in fantasy football.
Fri, 17 May 2013 10:01:45 -0700 Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush is comfortable in the team's offense, and he's comparing it to the days when he was with the New Orleans Saints. "I've always enjoyed being in the position that I am and doing what I do, being able to split out wide and catch balls so it's great that offenses are going toward that direction," Bush said. Fantasy Tip: Now that he should be effectively used in the passing attack, Bush could approach RB1 levels in point-per-reception leagues. He proved in Miami that he can be a primary back, too, so Detroit will likely use him as such and leave the short-yardage situations to Mikel Leshoure.
Thu, 16 May 2013 12:32:21 -0700 The Detroit Lions could give RB Reggie Bush a limited role as a punt returner this season.
Wed, 17 Apr 2013 07:19:27 -0700 West Virginia WR Tavon Austin, who visited with the Detroit Lions Wednesday, April 17, said he would provide the team with another weapon similar to RB Reggie Bush. "Another type of player like Reggie (Bush). Me and him would probably be twins back there," Austin said.
Tue, 09 Apr 2013 20:00:56 -0700 Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said Tuesday, April 9, that RB Reggie Bush could potentially catch between 60-80 balls in 2013. Fantasy Tip: That's what potential fantasy owners in leagues which reward points per reception (PPR) want to see. Bush should re-emerge as a No. 1 option in those formats, and a No. 2 fantasy option in standard leagues.
Tue, 26 Mar 2013 11:07:22 -0700 Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said all three of the teams running backs, Reggie Bush, Mikel Leshoure, and Joique Bell, will have a role in 2013. "Joique runs the ball a little bit different than Mikel, but they both run a little bit different and present different things than Reggie, and I think that combination of guys is good. People like to say running back by committee and things like that, but each guy will have a role. There will be plenty of touches on the offense for everybody."
Fri, 22 Mar 2013 18:22:28 -0700 Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said this week that RB Reggie Bush will be used in a role similar to his days with the New Orleans Saints. In two seasons with the Miami Dolphins, he averaged 222 carries and 39 catches per season, but in five years in New Orleans, he averaged 105 carries and 59 receptions per campaign. Fantasy Tip: It appears Bush will return to being a beast in points-per-reception (PPR) fantasy leagues once again. It wasn't that he was bad in those leagues over the past two season, but if he posts 50-60 catches per season in Detroit's high-octane offense, he'll certainly have a lot more worth than as an every-down back.
Wed, 20 Mar 2013 10:48:11 -0700 Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz indicated the team could use RB Reggie Bush as a punt returner next season.
