Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost officially named RP Jonathan Broxton as the team's closer Thursday, April 5. "It's not going to be a tandem," Yost said. "Broxton is coming in if we have a save situation (Friday) in the ninth inning. If we have a save situation in the eighth inning, (Greg) Holland is coming in, and then we're going to turn it over to Broxton." However, Yost wants to refrain from using Broxton three consecutive days, so if that's the case, RP Greg Holland will receive an opportunity. RPs Aaron Crow, Tim Collins, Kelvin Herrera and Jose Mijares will be used earlier in games. RP Everett Teaford will serve as the long man out of the bullpen.

Updating previous reports, Kansas City Royals RP Jose Mijares is expected to arrive at spring training camp Saturday, Feb. 25. He had been in his native Venezuela resolving family and visa issues.
