Updating a previous item, The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting the roster cuts of RP Josh Sharpless and C Carlos Maldonado were made because the two did not follow prescribed offseason training programs. One team source indicated there could have been more cuts made on March 6, but management wanted to send a clear signal that no one else should be lumped in with those two.
