Twins | Ricky Nolasco posts seven strikeouts

Wed, 13 May 2015 21:35:16 -0700

Minnesota Twins SP Ricky Nolasco allowed two unearned runs, four hits and three walks over 5 1/3 innings with seven strikeouts in a win Wednesday, May 14, against the Detroit Tigers. "We really worked on closing my front side in the bullpen, and with enough repetition, I was able to keep that rhythm in the game," Nolasco said.

Fantasy Tip: Nolasco hasn't been working deep into games, but he is improving and he is a solid FantasyScore value at just $3,200 (or 6.4% of cap).

Twins | Ricky Nolasco starting Saturday

Thu, 30 Apr 2015 14:41:05 -0700

Minnesota Twins SP Ricky Nolasco (elbow) will start against the Chicago White Sox Saturday, May 2. He will be a on a pitch limit of approximately 75 to 80 pitches, according to manager Paul Molitor.

Fantasy Tip: A pitch count is typically bad news for fantasy upside, so Nolasco ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) isn't a great option for FantasyScore contests Saturday. Outside of AL-only leagues, Nolasco will have to prove he can handle the American League before he warrants a roster spot. Take a wait-and-see approach with Nolasco.

Twins | Ricky Nolasco feeling good

Mon, 27 Apr 2015 19:45:01 -0700

Minnesota Twins SP Ricky Nolasco (elbow) felt good after his minor-league rehab outing for Class A Cedar Rapids Sunday, April 26. He struck out five batters while allowing just one run and throwing 67 pitches. " I felt good, I was able to throw nice, free and easy, which was huge," Nolasco said Monday, April 27.

Fantasy Tip: The team hasn't announced an exact timetable for Nolasco, so FantasyScore owners need not bother with him for a while. He is making progress, however, and that's a good sign.

Wed, 15 Apr 2015 16:46:50 -0700

Minnesota Twins SP Ricky Nolasco (elbow) played long toss without any issues Wednesday, April 15, according to general manager Terry Ryan.

Fantasy Tip: Nolasco ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) is an afterthought outside of AL-only leagues, and even then, he is a desperation start. Until Nolasco strings together a few nice starts and lands in a favorable matchup he has no business in your FantasyScore lineup.

Twins | Ricky Nolasco to play catch

Mon, 13 Apr 2015 19:39:00 -0700

Minnesota Twins SP Ricky Nolasco (elbow) is scheduled to play catch Wednesday, April 15. He said Monday, April 13, that it is still too soon to know if he'll be ready to come off the 15-day disabled list for the road series against the Seattle Mariners from April 24-26.

Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore owners will want to avoid Nolasco until he is able to officially return from the DL and prove his health in at least one full start without any setbacks. Trevor May is taking Nolasco’s spot in the rotation, but after getting tuned up Monday, FantasyScore owners shouldn’t have much confidence in May’s abilities.

Twins | Ricky Nolasco placed on DL

Sat, 11 Apr 2015 09:29:11 -0700

Minnesota Twins SP Ricky Nolasco (elbow) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday, April 11, because of right elbow inflammation. SP Trevor May was recalled from Triple-A Rochester.

Fantasy Tip: Nolasco ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) does not have any structural damage, so he may not miss a lot of time because of the injury. May should join the starting rotation but may not be a great option on FantasyScore at this point.

Twins | No structural damage for Ricky Nolasco

Fri, 10 Apr 2015 10:20:56 -0700

Minnesota Twins SP Ricky Nolasco's (elbow) MRI exam showed just right elbow inflammation and no structural damage.

Fantasy Tip: That's good news for Nolasco ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) owners. It means he likely won't spend much more than the minimum time on the disabled list. Trevor May will take Nolasco's place in the starting rotation in the meantime. May is worth adding in AL-only and very deep mixed leagues.
