The Minnesota Twins will place SP Ricky Nolasco (elbow) on the 15-day disabled list with a right elbow strain Tuesday, July 8. OF Chris Herrmann will be recalled from Triple-A Rochester. The move is retroactive to July 6. The Twins haven't announced who'll replace Nolasco in the rotation, but it could be SPs Samuel Deduno or Anthony Swarzak. Herrmann was batting .314 with two home runs and 15 RBIs with Rochester and had been splitting time between catcher and the outfield.
Fantasy Tip: Nolasco should only be held onto in AL-only leagues at this point. Deduno or Swarzak likely only have short-term value in the starting rotation and aren't worth much consideration, aside from AL leagues.

Minnesota Twins SP Ricky Nolasco (elbow) is dealing with a sore elbow and he will undergo an MRI Tuesday, July 8.
Fantasy Tip: Nolasco has had a rocky first season in Minneapolis, and an injury would not be great news if he hopes to turn things around anytime soon. He is only worth using in deeper AL-only fantasy formats at this point, and he should be dropped in those formats, too, if his elbow ailment turns out to be something which forces him to the 15-day disabled list for a while.

The $49 million deal signed by Minnesota Twins SP Ricky Nolasco will give him a partial no-trade clause that will allow him to block trades to three clubs. That list of clubs can change each year. Sources also indicate Nolasco will need 400 combined innings pitched in 2016 and 2017 for his $13 million option to vest for 2018. Nolasco has never cracked 400 innings in a two-year span, but he's come within three innings twice (2008-09, 2011-12).
