Indians | Mike Napoli smacks 21st homer

Tue, 19 Jul 2016 23:22:06 -0700

Cleveland Indians 1B Mike Napoli hit his 21st home run of the season Tuesday, July 19, in a 7-3 win over the Kansas City Royals.

Fantasy Tip: Napoli has turned around his career with one spectacular season in Cleveland. Free of injuries and other adversity and surrounded by several other top hitters, Napoli has blossomed once again. He should be started in all formats.

Indians | Mike Napoli blasts 20th homer

Sun, 17 Jul 2016 15:43:08 -0700

Cleveland Indians 1B Mike Napoli went 1-for-5 with a solo home run versus the Minnesota Twins on Sunday, July 17.

Fantasy Tip: Napoli's ugly road splits took a break in Minnesota this weekend, as he went 5-for-12 with two solo shots and four runs scored during the three-game set to raise his marks away from home to .215 with seven homers and 19 RBI away from Cleveland (.292, 13 home runs and 44 RBI at home). Owners will more consistent options at first base may want to consider them as the Indians visit the Kansas City Royals, although his power potential still makes him worth considering despite the fact he'll be on the road.

Indians | Big night for Mike Napoli

Fri, 15 Jul 2016 20:44:12 -0700

Cleveland Indians 1B Mike Napoli went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and three runs scored in a 5-2 win over the Minnesota Twins Friday, July 15.

Fantasy Tip: Napoli's average won't do you any favors, but he more than makes up for it with his contributions in homers, RBI and runs scored. He should be starting in all formats.

Indians | Mike Napoli continues to rake at home

Mon, 04 Jul 2016 22:16:03 -0700

Cleveland Indians 1B Mike Napoli belted a tiebreaking two-run home run and finished 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored in a 5-3 win over the Detroit Tigers on Monday, July 4.

Fantasy Tip: Despite logging 43 more at-bats away from Cleveland this season, Napoli is batting .286 with 12 homers and 39 RBI at Progressive Field, as opposed to .201 with five home runs and 17 RBI on the road. The 34-year-old slugger hits in the middle of the order for one of the best lineups in baseball, so his owners need to keep starting him in spite of the huge difference in his road and home splits.

Indians | Carlos Santana out in NL park

Wed, 29 Jun 2016 12:47:21 -0700

Cleveland Indians 1B Carlos Santana is not in the starting lineup against the Atlanta Braves and SP Joel De La Cruz Wednesday, June 29, without the designated hitter in a National League park. 1B Mike Napoli is at first base and is hitting cleanup.

Fantasy Tip: Napoli doesn't hit for average and strikes out often, but he's been a great waiver wire find this year with 16 home runs and 52 RBI in his first year in Cleveland. Against a pitcher making his major league debut tonight, Napoli needs to be fired up in all fantasy lineups.

Indians | Mike Napoli sitting vs. Atlanta

Tue, 28 Jun 2016 13:10:31 -0700

Cleveland 1B Mike Napoli is not in the starting lineup against the Atlanta Braves Tuesday, June 28.

Fantasy Tip: Without the option to utilize a designated hitter in the road game at Atlanta, Napoli is the odd-man out Tuesday. Napoli's batting average is nothing to write home about (.242), but his 45 runs, 16 home runs and 52 RBI are providing a solid three-category return. At this point, Napoli should be owned in the majority of seasonal leagues.

Indians | Mike Napoli enjoys three-hit night

Mon, 27 Jun 2016 19:46:23 -0700

Cleveland Indians 1B Mike Napoli finished 3-for-5 with an RBI single and scored twice against the Atlanta Braves on Monday, June 27.

Fantasy Tip: Napoli has a team-high 52 RBI this season, but the most noteworthy thing about his effort tonight was that it came on the road. Prior to Monday, the 34-year-old was batting .199 with only five homers and 15 RBI away from Cleveland. One good performance doesn't change the fact he has been horrible on the road this year, but perhaps the fact he is facing the Braves means owners can ignore his splits for the next two nights. As such, he should be started in most leagues.

Indians | Rest day for Mike Napoli

Wed, 08 Jun 2016 14:58:41 -0700

Cleveland Indians 1B Mike Napoli is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, June 8. OF Tyler Naquin draws into the starting lineup in center field and is batting eighth against Seattle Mariners SP Taijuan Walker.

Fantasy Tip: Naquin went hitless in his last game but before that had three straight games leaving the yard, and he's hitting .338 (26-for-77) in his first season in the big leagues. Those three home runs are the only ones he's hit all year, though, and he remains more of a sleeper pick to save salary cap space in daily leagues.
