Kansas City Royals SP's Felipe Paulino and Danny Duffy (elbow) are doing well in their rehabilitation assignments at Surprise, Ariz. Both underwent Tommy John surgery last season. "They're doing fine. I think both of them threw [Saturday]," manager Ned Yost said. "Duffy threw 20 pitches in a game and Paulino threw like 25 pitches in BP with good results. They're fine." Both are aiming for minor league pitching assignments in the next month or two.

Kansas City Royals SP Felipe Paulino (elbow) is around two weeks away from getting back on a mound following Tommy John surgery, and he's currently at 120 feet in his throwing program. "I'm playing catch four or five days a week," Paulino said. "I can feel my arm getting stronger every day."

Kansas City Royals SPs Danny Duffy (elbow) and Felipe Paulino (elbow), who both had Tommy John surgery last season, are hoping to be ready around late-June, early July, and Duffy said he's open to pitching in relief if that's where the team needs him. "It'd be nice to come in, finish out the season and be the push or whatever - a fresh arm. Paulino feels the same way - I can speak for him on that," Duffy said. "It's going to be a good time, late July when we're firing on all cylinders and me and Paulino can come back and fit in wherever we can." Duffy has been throwing at a distance of 105 feet during his rehab.

Kansas City Royals SP Felipe Paulino (elbow) will make $1.75 million as part of his one-year deal to avoid salary arbitration. He'll be taking a pay cut of $150,000. The deal includes $250,000 in performance bonuses. He's expected to be ready to pitch in the middle of next year after undergoing ligament replacement surgery on his elbow.
