Jerry Narron will take over as the new bench coach, former Baltimore Orioles pitching coach Rick Kranitz will serve as the pitching coach and Garth Iorg will be the new first base and infield coach.

The Associated Press reported Wigginton was tossed after arguing a call with first base umpire Gary Darling, Kranitz was ejected for shouting words from the dugout and Samuel got the heave-ho after a face-to-face argument with home plate ump Bill Hohn.

It was also Simon's first blown save in six chances this season. Manager Dave Trembley said he and pitching coach Rick Kranitz would talk to Simon, presumably about pitch selection, although Trembley would not criticize Simon's decision to throw a splitter to OF Austin Kearns through the media. "I don't think that's the way to go, to come out publicly and give an answer one way or the other," Trembley said, referring to whether or not he disagreed with the pitch chosen. "I don't think that's the way to do it."
