The Los Angeles Dodgers are expected to have a rotation consisting of SPs Clayton Kershaw, Zack Greinke, Chad Billingsley (elbow), Hyun-Jin Ryu and Josh Beckett. As such, Ps Chris Capuano, Aaron Harang and Ted Lilly (shoulder) might be turned into long relievers if they aren't traded. With Billingsley coming off an elbow injury and Lilly back from shoulder surgery, manager Don Mattingly said he likes the team's depth. General manager Ned Colletti added that none of the pitchers have asked to be dealt.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are making efforts to reestablish their international presence but are becoming uncertain about their chances of signing their top targets from Asia. Talks with South Korean P Hyun-Jin Ryu are moving very slowly, according to general manager Ned Colletti. The Dodgers also think high school P Shohei Otani could remain in his native Japan instead of signing with a U.S. ballclub.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are "probably unlikely" to trade for a starting pitcher this winter and might have to address that need in the free-agent market, General Manager Ned Colletti said. Colletti's assessment was based on conversations he had with other teams at the general managers' meetings, which started Wednesday, Nov. 7. The Dodgers are looking for a No. 2 or 3 pitcher behind SP Clayton Kershaw.

Los Angeles Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti announced on Saturday, Dec. 17, a restructuring of his inner circle, with Vance Lovelace and Rick Ragazzo emerging with new titles and greater influence in Major League player evaluation. Lovelace, previously a special assistant to the GM and director of player scouting, is now director of professional personnel. Ragazzo, previously a special assistant to the GM, is now director of pro scouting. Alex Tamin, a lawyer hired after the season, has quickly assumed a significant role in player analysis and arbitration preparation as director of contracts, research and operations. Logan White remains assistant GM in charge for amateur (Draft) and international scouting and DeJon Watson remains assistant GM for player development (Minor Leagues). Tony Howell and Ken Bracey remain as special assistants to Colletti.

Los Angeles Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti says his team doesn't need a major overhaul this offseason, his assessment based on the team's improved play of late, according to a report on MLB.com. The team could erase as much as $50 million off its payroll for the 2012 campaign, but Colletti cited the improved play of 1B James Loney and OF Juan Rivera as an example of why a major makeover isn't needed.
