Redskins | Brandon Meriweather agrees to pay cut

Washington Redskins FS Brandon Meriweather has agreed to take a pay cut from $2.45 million to $1.2 million to create some salary cap room for the team. His 2013 salary cap figure has gone from $2.9 million to $1.65 million.

The Washington Redskins are happy with the progress TE Fred Davis (Achilles'), DE Adam Carriker (quadriceps), LB Brian Orakpo (pectoral) and FS Brandon Meriweather (knee) have made in their rehabs and expect all four players to participate in training camp at some point.

Washington Redskins FS Brandon Meriweather (knee) will need ligament reconstruction surgery on his right knee, according to head coach Mike Shanahan. Meriweather is expected to need at least six months of recovery time. His surgery will be sometime in the next two weeks.
