Sun, 01 May 2011 10:12:51 -0700 Updating previous reports, Atlanta Braves pitching coach Roger McDowell has been suspended for two weeks without pay and fined an undisclosed amount for his actions April 23. He is also required to participate in a sensitivity training program. McDowell's suspension is retroactive to Friday, April 29, when he was placed on administrative leave by the team.

Parrish will replace Terry Pendleton, who will become the first base coach. Third base coach Brian Snitker, pitching coach Roger McDowell and bullpen coach Eddie Perez will all return.
Wed, 13 Oct 2010 19:30:10 -0700 Atlanta Braves first base coach Glenn Hubbard and bench coach Chino Cadahia will not be returning to the team next season, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's David O'Brien. Pitching coach Roger McDowell, third base coach Brian Snitker and bullpen coach Eddie Perez will all be back, with hitting coach Terry Pendleton switching to first base coach/infield coach. Carlos Tosca will serve as the new bench coach.

There has been speculation that Gonzalez would like his staff to include Carlos Tosca, the former bench coach with the Florida Marlins. Hitting coach Terry Pendleton is highly unlikely to stay on with the club.

Sun, 30 Oct 2005 10:47:50 -0800 Updating an earlier item, the Associated Press reports Atlanta Braves pitching coach Roger McDowell spent 12 years in the big leagues and most recently served as pitching coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers' Triple-A Las Vegas club for two seasons. "We are absolutely thrilled to add Roger to our staff," said Braves manager Bobby Cox. "Roger was a great competitor as a player - he started, he relieved and he even fought through arm problems, so he comes in with a great level of experience that our pitchers will learn from." Most of McDowell's 723 appearances came in relief. "He is one of the true up-and-coming teachers of the game," Cox said. "He has a great knowledge of pitching, and the reviews and evaluations we had on him were tremendous."
