Marlins | Coaching staff announced

Florida Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen's coaching staff for next year has been finalized. Joey Cora will be the bench coach, Eduardo Perez the hitting coach, Randy St. Claire the pitching coach, Joe Espada the third base coach, Gary Thurman the first base/outfield/baserunning coach and Reid Cornelius the bullpen coach. Bench coach Brandon Hyde and fielding coach Perry Hill will not return.

Marlins | Ozzie Guillen's staff taking shape

Florida Marlins third base coach Joe Espada and bullpen coach Reid Cornelius will remain with the team under new manager Ozzie Guillen. Joey Cora will be Guillen's bench coach. Pitching coach Randy St. Claire and hitting coach Eduardo Perez will also stay with the club. Bench coach Brandon Hyde and first base/infield coach Perry Hill appear to be out.

The Florida Marlins hired Perry Hill as their new infield and first base coach Wednesday, Nov. 3, according to The Associated Press. Bench coach Brandon Hyde, pitching coach Randy St. Claire, hitting coach John Mallee, third base coach Joe Espada and bullpen coach Reid Cornelius will all be returning.

Marlins | Three named to coaching staff

The South Florida SunSentinel's Juan C. Rodriguez reports the Florida Marlins are expected to announce the promotions of Reid Cornelius and Josue Espada to bullpen coach and infield coach, respectively, as well as the hiring of Randy St. Claire as a pitching coach, on Friday, Nov. 6. St. Claire came to terms on a two-year deal last week, but the Marlins chose not to make a formal announcement until after the World Series once the remaining staff members were in place.

Chico Harlan, of The Washington Post, reports Washington Nationals pitching coach Randy St. Claire was fired Tuesday, June 2. He is being replaced by Class AAA pitching coach Steve McCatty. The team's current ERA is 5.69, the worst in the majors.

Bill Ladson, of MLB.com, reports Washington Nationals SP Jordan Zimmermann threw five scoreless innings in a minor league game Thursday, March 26, striking out eight and giving up one hit. After the game he continued to work on developing his changeup and fixing his mechanics with pitching coach Randy St. Claire.

Nationals | D. Cabrera struggles with control Friday

Washington Nationals SP Daniel Cabrera allowed one run on four hits over two innings Friday, March 6, against the Baltimore Orioles, according to The Associated Press. He walked two and struck out two. However, only 24 of his 46 pitches were strikes and he allowed four stolen bases. Nationals pitching coach Randy St. Claire has been working with Cabrera to lengthen his stride before throwing, which may have contributed to Baltimore's ability to steal bases with little difficulty.
