The Baltimore Orioles hired former pitching coach Rick Peterson to serve as pitching development coordinator. The job is a newly created position that is a hybrid of the minor league pitching coordinator position and that will provide added responsibilities in areas of players development and the farm system.

The Baltimore Orioles met with pitching coach Rick Peterson on Tuesday, Dec. 13, about a supervisory job in the organization. This is the team's second meeting with Peterson.

Updating a previous item, ESPN.com reports the Milwaukee Brewers signed pitching coach Rick Peterson to a two-year deal Tuesday, Oct. 20. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
