Updating an earlier report, Atlanta Braves Class AAA Gwinnett manager Brian Snitker was named the interim manager for the Braves Tuesday, May 17. Bench coach Carlos Tosca was also fired, and he has been replaced by Terry Pendleton.

The Boston Red Sox are in the beginning stages of searching for a new manager, but already certain candidates are being ruled out. Toronto Blue Jays first base coach Torey Lovullo and Chicago White Sox minor league manager Joe McEwing are unlikely to be considered. Blue Jays manager John Farrell is also ruled out. Red Sox bench coach DeMarlo Hale, Cleveland Indians bench coach Sandy Alomar Jr., Philadelphia Phillies Class A manager Ryne Sandberg, Tampa Bay Rays bench coach Dave Martinez and Philadelphia Phillies bench coach Pete Mackanin are all under consideration. Sleeper candidates would be Atlanta Braves first base coach Terry Pendleton and former manager Ken Macha.

The Atlanta Braves hired Larry Parrish as their new hitting coach Friday, Oct. 29, according to MLB.com's Spencer Fordin. Parrish will replace Terry Pendleton, who will become the first base coach. Third base coach Brian Snitker, pitching coach Roger McDowell and bullpen coach Eddie Perez will all return.

Atlanta Braves first base coach Glenn Hubbard and bench coach Chino Cadahia will not be returning to the team next season, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's David O'Brien. Pitching coach Roger McDowell, third base coach Brian Snitker and bullpen coach Eddie Perez will all be back, with hitting coach Terry Pendleton switching to first base coach/infield coach. Carlos Tosca will serve as the new bench coach.

There has been speculation that Gonzalez would like his staff to include Carlos Tosca, the former bench coach with the Florida Marlins. Hitting coach Terry Pendleton is highly unlikely to stay on with the club.

Atlanta Braves hitting coach Terry Pendleton was back at work, Saturday, July 14, following an irregular heartbeat scare the previous day, according to the Associated Press. The problem developed after he had been jogging for 45 minutes. He was examined at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, and has a scheduled ultrasound in several weeks. "They told me I'm fine ... it's something that happens at our age," said Pendleton, who will turn 47 Monday, July 16.

Bill Ladson, of Washington.Nationals.MLB.com, reports Atlanta Braves hitting coach Terry Pendleton took his name out of the running for the Washington Nationals' managerial opening. Pendleton cited his loyalty to the Braves as the reason why he chose to stay in Atlanta. "I thought my obligations at this time are to the Braves. I knew that they really wanted me back and I didn't think it was fair to keep them on a string," Pendleton said.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Atlanta Braves hitting coach Terry Pendleton withdrew from consideration for the Washington Nationals managerial job. Pendleton has expressed a desire to remain with his family in Atlanta during the season.
