Los Angeles Dodgers OF Andre Ethier (knee) underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Wednesday, Sept. 14, to clean up wear and tear behind his right knee cap. He is expected to start his rehab in Arizona in one week.

Updating previous reports, Los Angeles Dodgers OF Andre Ethier (knee) will undergo season-ending arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Wednesday, Sept. 14. The procedure will be performed by team physician Dr. Neal ElAttrache. Ethier's recovery time is expected to be short enough where he can engage in a conditioning program closely resembling his normal offseason routine.

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly fully expects OF Andre Ethier (knee) to be ready to go for next season even if he needs to undergo offseason surgery. "We knew his symptoms, and it hadn't gotten worse, but we don't want it to get worse," Mattingly said. "It definitely doesn't sound like something that will be with him the rest of his career once it is taken care of. We will go into next year expecting him to be fully healthy for spring training."
