The Cincinnati Reds' lineup Monday, March 5, could stick in the regular season, without the DH spot. 2B Brandon Phillips is leading off, followed by SS Paul Janish, 1B Joey Votto, 3B Scott Rolen, OF Jay Bruce, OF Ryan Ludwick, OF Drew Stubbs, C Devin Mesoraco and DH Ryan Hanigan.

Cincinnati Reds skipper Dusty Baker said he's not ready to anoint C Devin Mesoraco as the starting catcher just yet. "I haven't seen enough of him," Baker said. "He's one of two. Eventually, he's going to be No. 1." C Ryan Hanigan is likely to split time with the youngster.

Cincinnati Reds C Ryan Hanigan (back) is unlikely to play again this year because he is dealing with back issues. He has been experiencing spasms, and an MRI exam Tuesday, Sept. 20, revealed two inflamed discs. He will receive an epidural injection Thursday, Sept. 22, and manager Dusty Baker is listing him as the third catcher.

Cincinnati Reds Cs Ryan Hanigan (back) and Ramon Hernandez (shin) were both sidelined against the Milwaukee Brewers Saturday, Sept. 17. Hanigan has been bothered by back spasms and Hernandez bruised his left shin after a foul tip Friday, Sept. 16. C Devin Mesoraco started behind the plate.

Cincinnati Reds C Ryan Hanigan went 3-for-4 with a pair of walks and a run scored Sunday, Aug. 28, against the Washington Nationals. Hanigan is 13-for-28 (.464) over the past nine games, raising his average from .244 to .270 just since Aug. 12.
