Indians | Four-hit game for Michael Bourn

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 18:14:03 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Bourn had a double and three singles in five trips to the plate Wednesday, July 29, against the Kansas City Royals, scoring a pair of runs.

Fantasy Tip: It hasn't been the most productive season for Bourn ($2,800, 5.6% of cap), but he has shown some signs of life lately. Since July 18 he is 11-for-26 (.423), raising his average from .222 to .242. FantasyScore players might find him to be a decent bargain, just don't expect much in the way of power.

Indians | Michael Bourn back in lineup Saturday

Sat, 18 Jul 2015 12:13:33 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Bourn is starting in center field and batting eighth against Cincinnati Reds SP Anthony DeSciafini Saturday, July 18. OF Michael Brantley, who started in center field Friday, July 17, will play left field, with OF David Murphy receiving the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Bourn ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) is only batting .222 with no home runs and 18 RBIs through 80 games and is not a great option in FantasyScore. Speed was once a big part of his game but he only has seven steals this year and one in his last 31 contests. Brantley ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) is batting .300 on the road but only has one home run away from Progressive Field.

Indians | Michael Bourn not starting

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 14:10:38 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Bourn is not in the starting lineup against Cincinnati Reds SP Mike Leake Friday, July 17, since the team is playing in a National League park and there is no designated hitter.

Fantasy Tip: Bourn ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) may not see a lot of playing time while the team is playing in National League parks, so owners on FantasyScore should avoid him for the time being.

Indians | Mike Aviles draws start in LF

Thu, 09 Jul 2015 12:53:18 -0700

Cleveland Indians SS Mike Aviles is starting in left field and hitting ninth against Houston Astros left-handed SP Brett Oberholtzer Thursday, July 9. OF Michael Bourn is sitting against the lefty.

Fantasy Tip: Aviles ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) has three of his four home runs this year against lefty arms, but he typically struggles to fill out the stat sheet, and he's not that intriguing for daily gamers hitting at the bottom of the lineup. Aviles is a low-end shortstop play on FantasyScore, but he can help save you valuable cap space.

Indians | Michael Bourn out vs. lefty

Mon, 06 Jul 2015 13:13:48 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Bourn is not in the lineup against Houston Astros left-handed SP Dallas Keuchel Monday, July 6. SS Mike Aviles is starting in left field and hitting ninth in the order.

Fantasy Tip: Aviles ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) doesn't have much intrigue tonight while facing one of the American League's better pitchers this year. A spot at the bottom of the lineup also is a turnoff.

Indians | Mike Aviles starting in left field

Sat, 04 Jul 2015 10:36:34 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Mike Aviles will start in left field and bat eighth against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Jeff Locke Saturday, July 4. OF Michael Brantley, who played left field Friday, July 3, will start in center field, with OF Michael Bourn getting the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Aviles' ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) .296 mark on the road this season could make him a value option at shortstop for FantasyScore owners this afternoon.

Indians | Michael Bourn serving suspension

Thu, 02 Jul 2015 08:34:14 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Bourn is serving his one-game suspension Thursday, July 2. OF Mike Aviles is in his spot hitting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Aviles ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) and his .255-3-8 line isn't an attractive buy on FantasyScore.

Indians | Mike Aviles draws start Friday

Fri, 26 Jun 2015 13:24:39 -0700

Cleveland Indians SS Mike Aviles is starting in left field and hitting ninth against Baltimore Orioles SP Wei-Yin Chen Friday, June 26. OF Michael Bourn is out of the lineup against a left-handed pitcher.

Fantasy Tip: Aviles ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) is batting .253 (20-for-79) with two of his three home runs against left-handed pitchers in 2015, but there isn't much fantasy upside to him, especially when hitting at the bottom of the lineup. He's a weak play on FantasyScore.

Indians | Michael Bourn in lineup vs. Tigers

Wed, 24 Jun 2015 09:10:13 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Bourn is back in the starting lineup against Detroit Tigers SP Buck Farmer, who is making a spot start Wednesday, June 24. Bourn is starting in center field and hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Bourn ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) is hitting only .237 (47-for-198) on the season with no homers, 14 RBI and five stolen bases. He shouldn't excite FantasyScore users, but a matchup with Farmer could make him a successful deep sleeper pick Wednesday to save cap space elsewhere.

Indians | Michael Bourn sitting vs. Tigers

Mon, 22 Jun 2015 13:16:06 -0700

Cleveland Indians OF Michael Bourn is not in the starting lineup Monday, June 22. SS Mike Aviles draws into the lineup starting in left field and batting sixth against Detroit Tigers SP Kyle Ryan.

Fantasy Tip: Bourn ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) has a .139/.205/.139 slash line over his past 14 games, and he has just five stolen bases this season. Outside of AL-only and cavernous mixed leagues, he holds minimal value. Aviles ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) has a respectable .260/.345/.370 slash line vs. lefties this season, and he stands as value option at shortstop for FantasyScore players Monday.
