The Sports Network reports the Texas Rangers signed free-agent 1B Wes Bankston (Reds) to an undisclosed minor league deal Wednesday, Feb. 24.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports the Cincinnati Reds optioned Ps Sam Lecure, Steven Avery and Matt Maloney to Triple-A Louisville Tuesday, March 17. IF Juan Francisco was optioned to Double-A Charlotte. P James Avery, 1B Wes Bankston, 1B Kevin Baker, IF Luis Bolivar, P Adam Pettyjohn, P Ben Jukich and P Jordan Smith were all reassigned to the minor leagues.
