Jeff Duncan, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports the New Orleans Saints have signed free agent WR Thabiti Davis, who played for the AFL's Detroit Fury last season. Davis played for the New York Giants in 2000 and 2001.

The New England Patriots have signed free agent WR Thabiti Davis to a contract, according to Patriots.com. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Davis played in the AFL this past spring and had spent time on the New York Giants roster during the 2000 and 2001 seasons.

The Star-Ledger reports the New York Giants will begin looking at WRs later Tuesday. Former Lions WR Herman Moore is due to fly in and, according to his agent Brad Blank, "they're going to kick each other's tires. But I think it could be a good fit for both of them." Blank got the impression that if Moore looks like he is in shape, the job is his. Another named mentioned was WR Sean Dawkins and Bob Glauber adds for Newsday WR Yancey Thigpen may be on the list too. WR Thabiti Davis said Monday the Giants rescinded an offer to him, saying they wanted to sign a veteran.

The NY Daily News reports New York Giants WR Thabiti Davis is expected to take over as the team's No. 3 WR tomorrow if Joe Jurevicius (hamstring) can't play. He will reportedly will move ahead of Ron Dixon on the depth chart. "I've been at this for about four years and I have all the confidence in the world in myself and my abilities," Davis said. According to Giants coach Jim Fassel, Davis will get the shot at No. 3 because he is a bigger WR than Dixon. Dixon (elbow) said he thought Davis jumped ahead of him "because I got hurt," but that's not completely true.

Giants.com's Michael Eisen reports New York Giants head coach Jim Fassel said WRs Thabiti Davis and Ron Dixon would split duties as the No. 3 WR this weekend if Joe Jurevicius (hamstring) isn't able to play. Jurevicius will be a game-time decision. DE Kenny Holmes (shoulder) was added to the injury report Friday after tweaking his shoulder during practice. TE Dam Campbell (knee) returned to practice. Campbell, FB Greg Comella (shoulder) and DT Keith Hamilton (shoulder) have been upgraded to probable.
