Washington Nationals SP Chien-Ming Wang (shoulder) will be activated from the disabled list to start against the New York Mets Friday, July 29, but the team is unsure how they will clear a rotation spot for him. Barring a trade, it is expected that Wang will take the spot of SP Tom Gorzelanny, who will likely move to the bullpen.

Washington Nationals SP Chien-Ming Wang (shoulder) was pounded for five earned runs, eight hits and a walk over five innings in a loss Sunday, July 24, in what was believed to be his final minor league rehab start for Triple-A Syracuse. Wang might move into the rotation as early as next weekend with the Nationals at the expense of SP Tom Gorzelanny, although that might change based upon this mediocre performance.

Washington Nationals SP Tom Gorzelanny, who was pounded in his latest start Saturday, July 24, might lose his rotation spot when SP Chien-Ming Wang (shoulder) is able to come off the 15-day disabled list, possibly as early as next weekend. "I'm not really thinking about that right now," manager Davey Johnson said.
