Fantasy Tip: Maxwell still needs significant time to come back from his injury. In the meantime, the Astros have drastically changed their outfield alignment, beginning when they released Rick Ankiel. Jimmy Paredes, Robbie Grossman and J.D. Martinez have earned consistent playing time, and depending on how they're playing when Maxwell returns, he may find himself without regular PT.

Fantasy Tip: Don't expect Maxwell to return to the 'Stros until June, though, since he has yet to perform any baseball activities. Houston just reshuffled their outfield stable yesterday, too, so Maxwell may find himself battling for playing time when he's ready to return. He's a commodity in very deep mixed leagues when he returns, but only if he's back in a starting role.

As a result, he was available to hit Thursday, Aug. 30. "We had to modify the batting glove and put some padding on it so I'll finish out the rest of the season and allow it to fully heal in the offseason so I can help the team win some games here in September, if not today," Maxwell said. He said none of the injuries he suffered this year will require offseason surgery.
