Royals | Lorenzo Cain to DL

Thu, 17 Apr 2014 14:59:56 -0700

The Kansas City Royals placed OF Lorenzo Cain (groin) on the 15-day disabled list Thursday, April 17, and recalled SP Justin Marks from Triple-A Omaha in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: Jarrod Dyson should benefit the most with Cain heading to the sidelines, but he could enter into a platoon in center field with Justin Maxwell. Add Dyson in deep mixed leagues and AL-onlys if your outfield depth is hurting.

Royals | Justin Maxwell will make squad

Tue, 18 Mar 2014 10:13:47 -0700

Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost said OF Justin Maxwell is expected to make the team out of camp. Maxwell is hitting .419 (18-for-43) with a home run and six RBIs in spring action in 14 games.

Fantasy Tip: Maxwell has an intriguing power and speed mix, but he doesn't make enough contact to really deliver on it. He's probably set for platoon duty against right-handers.
