Former NFL DL Warren Sapp's employment with the NFL Network is likely over, according to two league sources. Sapp has not been on the network since the week of his tweets and on-air comments that labeled free-agent TE Jeremy Shockey (Panthers) as the snitch in the New Orleans Saints bounty scandal - something commissioner Roger Goodell said was not true. Sapp's next on-air appearance has not been determined, according to a source.

Free-agent TE Jeremy Shockey (Panthers) said he wants an apology from the NFL and former DL Warren Sapp over Sapp's comments regarding Shockey as the "snitch" in the New Orleans Saints' bounty scandal. Shockey has been meeting with legal and business advisors and has not ruled out taking legal action if Sapp and the league do not apologize.

Carolina Panthers TE Jeremy Shockey said he hopes to negotiate a contract extension with the team. "You see people grow and you know it's going to be a special team. You want to be a part of that," Shockey said. "You were here when new coaches came and developed. You don't want to be somewhere else because you put so much hard work in and you've seen people grow. And the only thing it's going to do is get better and better." Shockey said there have been no contract talks yet between the Panthers and his agent, Drew Rosenhaus.
