The Los Angeles Dodgers have released RP Brian Wilson. The team will be responsible for paying his $10 million salary for 2015. If he is signed by another club, the Dodgers will have to pay the entire amount except for the major league minimum of $507,500.

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said the team decided to keep 12 pitchers on its NLDS roster instead of carrying an extra position player because of instability in the bullpen. Last season, Mattingly frequently relied upon RP Brian Wilson to pitch the eighth inning, with CL Kenley Jansen pitching in the ninth. "Now, we're matching up, we're multiple guys at the end of the game, so we're just using more pitchers to get to where we need to go," Mattingly said.

Not even Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly nor pitching Rick Honeycutt know whether RP Brian Wilson is still pitching hurt. His command and velocity problems resurfaced again as he allowed four runs against the Philadelphia Phillies Thursday, April 24. Wilson was dressed and had left the locker room before media members could ask him about his outing Thursday night. Mattingly plans to ask Wilson if he's healthy, and he's considering removing Wilson from the eighth-inning setup role so he can work on his issues.
Fantasy Tip: With Wilson struggling all around, you have no business owning him really, unless it's a very deep NL-only league. If he's removed from the setup role in favor of Chris Perez soon, there's even more cause to drop him from your roster.
