Astros | Scott Feldman turns in big effort

Mon, 24 Aug 2015 21:52:00 -0700

Houston Astros SP Scott Feldman allowed six hits and no walks with six strikeouts over eight scoreless innings in a no-decision against the New York Yankees Monday, Aug. 24, against the New York Yankees.

Fantasy Tip: Feldman ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) well exceeded his FantasyScore salary expectation despite the no-decision. His next scheduled start will come Monday, Aug. 31, at home against the Seattle Mariners and Felix Hernandez.

Astros | Scott Feldman spins tidy outing

Wed, 12 Aug 2015 16:13:32 -0700

Houston Astros SP Scott Feldman pitched six scoreless innings with four strikeouts during Houston's 2-0 win over the San Francisco Giants Wednesday, Aug. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Feldman ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) has allowed just six runs through 25 innings over his past four outings, and while he is far from a high-end arm, FantasyScore players cap open up a lot of cap room starting Feldman. He is a viable streamer option in favorable matchups for seasonal players, too. Make sure to be selective with who you start him against, though, as he has a career 4.48 ERA and 4.39 FIP.

Fantasy Tip: Feldman ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) has been out a little more than a month, and his numbers included an unimpressive 4.80 ERA prior to the injury. Pass on him at FantasyScore in his first start back.

Astros | Scott Feldman tosses sim game

Tue, 30 Jun 2015 21:11:23 -0700

Astros | Scott Feldman had meniscus tear

Fri, 29 May 2015 13:28:36 -0700

Updating a previous report, Houston Astros SP Scott Feldman (knee) underwent arthroscopic surgery to fix a torn right medial meniscus in his knee Friday, May 29, and he was put on the 15-day disabled list. He's expected to be out six weeks. He sustained the injury during his start Tuesday, May 26. SP Brett Oberholtzer (finger) could come off the disabled list to take Feldman's spot in the rotation after he made a rehab start Wednesday, May 27.

Fantasy Tip: With Feldman out for that long, he can be dropped in standard fantasy leagues. Oberholtzer ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) allowed one earned run in just three innings of work in his only start this year before being injured. Check to see if he was dropped in AL-only leagues. At FantasyScore, it'd be wise to avoid him for at least a start or two if he rejoins the rotation in place of Feldman.

Astros | Scott Feldman to DL

Fri, 29 May 2015 12:06:51 -0700

Houston Astros SP Scott Feldman (knee) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday, May 29, following surgery on his right knee. Feldman will miss six weeks. In a corresponding move, SP Michael Feliz was called up from Class AA Corpus Christi.

Fantasy Tip: Feldman ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) should be immediately shelved until his return to active duty, which will likely be after the All-Star break. Feliz will pitch out of the bullpen and carries minimal fantasy value. Look to someone like Brett Oberholtzer ($3,100, 6.2% of cap), who could get Feldman's rotation spot.

Angels | Angels searching for starters

Wed, 27 Aug 2014 10:58:16 -0700

New York Mets SP Bartolo Colon, Arizona Diamondbacks SP Trevor Cahill, Houston Astros SP Scott Feldman and Philadelphia Phillies SP A.J. Burnett have interested the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim as they search to replace SP Garrett Richards (knee) in their starting rotation. Ps Randy Wolf, Chris Volstad and Michael Roth are the Angels' current in-house options. Burnett is believed not to want to go to the West Coast. Colon may be the best option, but the Angels may face competition from other teams looking to beef up their rotations.
