The Texas Rangers acquired INF Greg Miclat from the Baltimore Orioles Thursday, Dec. 8, to complete the trade involving C Taylor Teagarden.

Baltimore Orioles C Taylor Teagarden (knee) had a minor arthroscopic knee procedure after the season ended. The surgery wasn't serious and he passed his physical with flying colors.

Texas Rangers general manger Jon Daniels said that the team is letting other clubs know that they are in need of relief help, and are willing to deal to fill their needs. "It's something that we're open to, but it's easier said than done," Daniels said. "There are not a lot of clubs eager to move quality arms right now. We've got to be able to address it right now." The bullpen has allowed 18 runs (14 earned) over the last four games, which has raised their ERA to 4.52, the third highest mark in the American League.

The Baltimore Orioles may be willing to talk about dealing RPs Koji Uehara, Jim Johnson or Kevin Gregg, and the Kansas City Royals are willing to talk about RP Joakim Soria. The Rangers have already had talks with the Washington Nationals about RPs Tyler Clippard and Todd Coffey. The San Francisco Giants need a catcher and have been looking at C Taylor Teagarden.
