New York Jets FB Sean Bennett was moved to LB during the team's afternoon practice on Friday, August 8, according to Randy Lange, of the Bergen Record. The move does not bode well for Bennett's chances to make the roster as a FB, a position that is already crowded.

New York Jets head coach Herman Edwards said RB Sean Bennett has a chance to make the team. He noted he's able to catch the ball and is very, very fast. He did, however, note that Bennett has had a history of being injured.

Michael Eisen for Giants.com reports New York Giants head coach Jim Fassel said the team is moving RB Sean Bennett to WR to help out their current situation. Bennett was an All-State WR in high school and doesnít see the switch as a problem at all.

Michael Eisen reports for Giants.com RB Sean Bennett, attempting a recovery from injuries, has performed well in the non-contact drills. Coach Jim Fassel believes Bennett is poised to resume his career in a big way. "Bennett is feeling fine," Fassel said. "He looks like the same Sean Bennett. He hasn't lost a step. He hasn't lost anything."

The Star-Ledger reports former New York Giants RB Sean Bennett has re-signed with the Giants. Bennett signed a two-year contract. He said his lingering hamstring injury has completely healed and that he will take part in off-season workouts beginning March 25.

Chris Perkins reports for the Sun Sentinel the Miami Dolphins worked out former Giants RB Sean Bennett and former Cowboys OL Tony Hudson Thursday. The team was impressed by RB Robert Edwards' workout, but he hasn't been signed for next year at this time.

The New York Daily News reports former New York Giants RB Sean Bennett is still recovering from his injury and not ready to resume his NFL career. The Giants aren't allowed to re-sign him until January and Bennett recently declined offers to work out for the Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins. "I think he would definitely be very, very interested," said his agent, Rick Smith of an attempted comeback with the Giants next season.

The New York Times reports New York Giants head coach Jim Fassel said RB Sean Bennett (hamstring) is recovering slowly. Fassel said that there is no timetable for Bennettís return, but he will have to make a decision at some point. Bennett was expected to return to practice next week.

C Dusty Zeigler remains sidelined with an ankle injury, while C Jason Whittle took the afternoon off with a hip flexor. The New York Post reports New York Giants WR Joe Jurevicius left Sunday's practice with back spasms. RB Sean Bennett (hamstring) is now running at three-quarters speed and he has had no discomfort. He hopes to begin practicing next week. "I need to get out there sometime," Bennett said.

The Associated Press New York Giants RB Sean Bennett is still having problems with his hamstring injury. Bennett suffered the hamstring injury while running in late March. He was due back for training camp, but did not make it. He was then due back later today, but Bennett said he might give it a try this week, but his hamstring is not fully healed.

According to Giants.com, GM Ernie Accorsi of the New York Giants said earlier today the team hopes to re-sign free agent DT Christian Peter. LB Dhani Jones is fully recovered after missing all of last season with a knee injury, according to the GM. The status of RB Sean Bennett, who also missed all of last season because of a knee injury, is "so far, so good."

Neil Best reports for the Sporting New the New York Giants, who made it through last season relatively injury-free, are expected to head into 2001 training camp with everyone healthy. Two players injured in training camp last season, LB Dhani Jones (torn ACL) and RB/FB Sean Bennett (knee) are expected to be at 100% for the team's 2001 training camp. If healthy, Bennett could take some of the burden off of Tiki Barber, if he re-signs with the Giants. Backup OT Chris Ziemann (knee) is also expected to be ready to go. The may look to younger players like DL Cornelius Griffin and LB Brandon Short to step into the starting lineup next year.

The Associated Press reports lost in the shuffle of the New York Giants Super Bowl season was the fact they lost several players for the entire season due to injuries. RB Sean Bennett, LB Dhani Jones, CBs Ralph Brown and Andre Weathers and OT Chris Ziemann all missed part or the entire 2000 season. The team is particularly excited about adding Bennett and Jones to the mix and both believe they will be fully recovered from major knee surgeries by the start of training camp.
