The Los Angeles Dodgers placed OF Juan Rivera (leg) on the 15-day disabled list with a left leg injury Wednesday, May 9, and are expected to recall OF Scott Van Slyke from Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move. Van Slyke was hitting .336 with eight home runs and 25 RBIs in the minors. He's the son of former OF Andy Van Slyke.

The Los Angeles Dodgers assigned Ps Mike Antonini, Stephen Fife, Josh Wall and Chris Withrow and OFs Alex Castellanos, Alfredo Silverio and Scott Van Slyke to minor league camp Thursday, March 15. The team also cut P Shane Lindsay and 1B Russ Mitchell.

Updating an earlier item, the Associated Press' Dan Gelston reports Los Angeles Dodgers OF Scott Van Slyke, who was signed Tuesday, July 19, is the team's 14th-round draft pick. Van Slyke was assigned to the Gulf Coast League. He is the son of ex-major leaguer Andy Van Slyke.
