Cleveland Indians 3B Andy LaRoche doubled home 2B Cristian Guzman in the Cactus League game Saturday, March 17. Guzman had a pair of hits, and INF Gregorio Petit had a hit in his only at-bat. The three players are in the mix for the utility infielder role.

The Oakland Athletics sent 3B Andy LaRoche outright to Triple-A Sacramento Wednesday, June 8, after he cleared waivers. He was designated for assignment Sunday, June 5.

The Oakland Athletics designated IF Andy LaRoche for assignment on Monday, June 6. "They just told me that with (Adam Rosales) coming back, they had to make a decision," LaRoche said. "It's definitely disappointing, but I guess I'll play it by ear now and see what my best opportunity is." The team has expressed interest in keeping LaRoche if he clears waivers following the customary 10-day period.
