Mon, 08 May 2006 10:17:37 -0700 Steve Wyche, of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reports agent Pat Dye Jr. said the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed undrafted rookie free agent CB Reuben Houston (Georgia Tech), after he completed a weekend tryout with the Bucs. Dye said Houston had "three or four" teams willing to give Houston a tryout, but they but opted for Tampa Bay because of its personnel and the system it runs.

He ran the 40-yard dash twice with the times of 4.59 seconds while running the short shuttle with a time of 4.12 seconds and the three-cone drill in 6.81 seconds. Houston also completed 21 repetitions on the 225-pound bench press.

Fri, 01 Jul 2005 15:20:17 -0700 Michael J. Thompson, of the Citizen, reports Georgia Tech CB Reuben Houston was indicted Thursday, June 30, on drug conspiracy charges in Fresno, California. He is now expected to appear in court August 8. He is alleged to have conspired to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute nearly 100 pounds of marijuana valued at more than $60,000, according to court documents. If convicted, Houston could face a maximum of 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine. He had been a two-year starter at cornerback and was projected by numerous NFL scouts as being picked in the second to fourth rounds of the 2006 NFL draft.
