White Sox | Melky Cabrera has three-hit game

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 20:43:19 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Melky Cabrera went 3-for-6 with a double, triple, two runs scored and an RBI Wednesday, July 20, against the Seattle Mariners.

Fantasy Tip: Cabrera has come alive, pushing his average over the .300 mark. In the month of July he is 17-for-49 (.347) with eight runs scored, two doubles, a triple and a home run with four RBIs to raise his average from .294 to .302 since July 4. He has re-emerged as a must-start across all fantasy formats and DFS play.

White Sox | Tim Anderson, Avisail Garcia out

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 10:01:07 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Tim Anderson and OF Avisail Garcia are not in the starting lineup Wednesday, July 20. SS Tyler Saladino is starting at shortstop and hitting ninth, while 1B Justin Morneau is serving as the designated hitter and batting cleanup against Seattle Mariners SP Felix Hernandez. Also, OF Melky Cabrera moves into the two-hole.

Fantasy Tip: There's not much to like about Saladino hitting ninth for DFS purposes against King Felix in his return. However, both Melky and Morneau can be under-the-radar value plays in prime lineup spots. Hernandez has put up good numbers but isn't his usual dominant self this year and is making his first start back today after a long layoff.

White Sox | Trio of Pale Hose with multi-hit games

Sat, 16 Jul 2016 21:34:01 -0700

Chicago White Sox 1B Jose Abreu, OF Melky Cabrera and OF Adam Eaton each finished 2-for-4 Saturday, July 16, against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Abreu had a pair of doubles, while Eaton had a double and a stolen base.

Fantasy Tip: All three are must-start fantasy options in all AL-only leagues and most mixed formats. Cabrera is hitting .296 overall and has the highest slugging percentage of the three at .450, but Abreu is right on his heels at .433. Eaton is up to 11 steals and helps fantasy owners with occasional power and speed.

Chicago White Sox OF Melky Cabrera (wrist) returned to the lineup Monday, July 4, hitting fifth.

Fantasy Tip: The Melk Man has a .294-8-39 line on the year, and he's a midrange option against CC Sabathia.

White Sox | Melky Cabrera remains sidelined

Sun, 03 Jul 2016 09:58:09 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Melky Cabrera (wrist) is not in the starting lineup against Houston Astros SP Collin McHugh Sunday, July 3. OF Avisail Garcia will start in left field and is batting eighth. C Alex Avila will serve as the designated hitter, while C Dioner Navarro will start at catcher and is batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Navarro is hitting .333 with two extra base hits and four RBI over the last seven days and should be a starting candidate for some daily fantasy leagues. Garcia and Avila should be used in AL-only leagues but may not have much value in mixed leagues.

Chicago White Sox OF Melky Cabrera (wrist) expects to return to the lineup Monday, July 4, against the New York Yankees.

Fantasy Tip: Cabrera owns a .294 average on the year, and he makes a solid starting option in AL-only formats and deeper mixed leagues.

White Sox | Melky Cabrera not in lineup Saturday

Sat, 02 Jul 2016 11:15:12 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Melky Cabrera (wrist) remains out of the starting lineup versus the Houston Astros Saturday, July 2, because of a sprained right wrist.

Fantasy Tip: If Cabrera had been healthy enough to start Saturday, he would have had an extremely favorable matchup versus SP Doug Fister. He is 7-for-17 (.412) with a double, triple and RBI in his career against the veteran right-hander. Cabrera should be avoided in DFS until he can play at least one full game without experiencing any setbacks.

White Sox | Melky Cabrera remains sidelined

Thu, 30 Jun 2016 17:54:52 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Melky Cabrera (wrist) is expected to miss at least one more game due to a strained right wrist.

Fantasy Tip: Cabrera hit .321 with four home runs and 15 RBI in 81 at-bats during the month of June. However, daily fantasy players should wait until he plays in at least one full game without experiencing any setbacks before using him again.

White Sox | Tyler Saladino draws a start

Wed, 29 Jun 2016 14:39:33 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Tyler Saladino is starting at third base and is hitting ninth against Minnesota Twins SP Ricky Nolasco Wednesday, June 29. 3B Todd Frazier moves over to first base, 1B Jose Abreu is serving as the designated hitter and OF Avisail Garcia is in left field with OF Melky Cabrera (wrist) out.

Fantasy Tip: With Melky missing at least a few days, Saladino could sub in regularly in the short term. He's hitting just .250 on the year, though, and has just eight homers in the last two seasons, so his offensive upside is low. Look elsewhere tonight for a DFS sleeper at shortstop.

White Sox | Melky Cabrera to miss a few games

Wed, 29 Jun 2016 14:33:59 -0700

Chicago White Sox OF Melky Cabrera (wrist) will be out three or four days due to a wrist sprain.

Fantasy Tip: Cabrera's been terrific in June, hitting .321/.333/.593 in 81 at-bats, but it looks like those will be his final numbers for the month. While he's out of the lineup, this should ensure that Avisail Garcia and J.B. Shuck each get regular playing time. However, both are dicey plays in daily leagues.
