Jim Flynn, of PewterReport.com, reports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed free agent OT Chris Ziemann (Jaguars) to a contract and immediately allocated him to NFL Europe. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Florida Times-Union reports two injured Jacksonville Jaguars players will impact the team's 2002 salary cap. OL Chris Ziemann and Aaron Koch will both miss the season with knee injuries. Ziemann had a split contract reducing his salary from $300,000 to $145,000 if he's not on the active roster. Counting his $15,000 signing bonus, he'll count $160,000 on the Jaguars cap. Koch didn't have a split contract so he'll cost them his entire base salary of $375,000. He also had a $4,050 workout bonus. Both appear to be headed to the IR list.

Bart Hubbuch, of the Florida Times-Union, reports the Jacksonville Jaguars may be shuffling their offensive line. The team may move ORT Maurice Williams to left tackle and then have an open competition during training camp at right tackle. As reported previously, the team added free agent OL Chris Ziemann on Wednesday.

Neil Best reports for the Sporting New the New York Giants, who made it through last season relatively injury-free, are expected to head into 2001 training camp with everyone healthy. Two players injured in training camp last season, LB Dhani Jones (torn ACL) and RB/FB Sean Bennett (knee) are expected to be at 100% for the team's 2001 training camp. If healthy, Bennett could take some of the burden off of Tiki Barber, if he re-signs with the Giants. Backup OT Chris Ziemann (knee) is also expected to be ready to go. The may look to younger players like DL Cornelius Griffin and LB Brandon Short to step into the starting lineup next year.

The Associated Press reports lost in the shuffle of the New York Giants Super Bowl season was the fact they lost several players for the entire season due to injuries. RB Sean Bennett, LB Dhani Jones, CBs Ralph Brown and Andre Weathers and OT Chris Ziemann all missed part or the entire 2000 season. The team is particularly excited about adding Bennett and Jones to the mix and both believe they will be fully recovered from major knee surgeries by the start of training camp.
