Wed, 03 Apr 2013 19:53:45 -0700 Arizona Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson indicated Wednesday, April 3, that he has no plans to rest C Miguel Montero, as the team has three scheduled off days in the next 12 days. "He caught 136 games last year and he wants to catch more this year," Gibson said. "He's an elite catcher and a day off now is not going to matter in August when it's hot out and we're traveling all over." Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners like to hear this. It appears safe to leave Montero in the active lineup in all weekly formats, and those in daily leagues can also just set it and forget it for a while.

"Since Day 1 of spring training I caught him and he killed me because he threw about 100 pitches the first day," Montero said. "After the first bullpen, we talked and I said if you throw your fastball and go to the breaking ball it will help you have better location and you'll establish your fastball. He said yes and the next time he did the same thing. He never wanted to listen. It's not like he wants to learn. He's got his way and it's tough to change it. Good luck, (C Carlos Santana)."

"I understand he pitches his way, but at the same time we need to have a plan. If the guy's a good fastball hitter, yeah, you can throw the fastball, but where? It's just things we need to talk (about). We need to have a little game plan."

Hill extended his home hitting streak to 13 games, and he became the first player in team history to hit a homer and a double in three straight games.
