Houston Astros minor league 1B Mark Ori is hitting .200, with two RBIs, through his first 25 at-bats in the Arizona Fall League, according to Kevin T. Czerwinski of MLB.com. "We wanted to reward him by sending him to Arizona," said Ricky Bennett, the team's assistant general manager and director of player development. "He hasn't played much there, but he's benefiting from the experience of being around older guys and seeing better pitching."

Alyson Footer, of MLB.com, reports Houston Astros C Koby Clemens, 1B Mark Ori and C Jeremy Goethals were arraigned Tuesday, Sept. 2, and another court date was set for Dec. 2, according to Salem Avalanche assistant general manager Ricky Bennett.

Astros.MLB.com's Alyson Footer reports Houston Astros C Koby Clemens, 1B Mark Ori and C Jeremy Goethals were arrested after several members of the Salem Avalanche were at a popular Salem, Va., restaurant Saturday, Aug. 30. Clemens and Ori were charged with disorderly conduct and Goethals with assault and battery. All three were taken to the Roanoke County-Salem Jail before being released on bond, according to the Roanoke Times, reciting a release from the Salem police. The news release said police were dispatched to a disturbance in the restaurant's parking lot at 2 a.m. on Sunday and found approximately 50 people in the lot.

MiLB.com reports the Houston Astros will send OF Brian Bogusevic, 2B Drew Sutton, 1B Mark Ori, 3B Chris D. Johnson, P Sergio Perez, P Bud Norris and P Christopher Blazek to play for the Scottsdale Scorpions in the Arizona Fall League.

The Houston Chronicle reports the Houston Astros signed 1B Mark Ori, their 14th-round pick in this year's first-year player draft, to a contract. Financial terms were not disclosed.
