Sun, 02 Aug 2015 11:15:21 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez is not in the starting lineup Sunday, Aug. 2, against the St. Louis Cardinals. OF Kyle Parker is in left field and OF Brandon Barnes is in right, while OF Charlie Blackmon covers center.

Fantasy Tip: This appears to be a normal day off for Gonzalez ($5,100, 10.2% of cap), so there are no worries. Leave him off your roster.

Rockies | Drew Stubbs in LF

Sat, 01 Aug 2015 14:51:16 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Drew Stubbs will start in left field and hit seventh in the order Saturday, Aug. 1, against the St. Louis Cardinals and RHP Lance Lynn. OF Brandon Barnes comes out of the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Stubbs ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) has hit four home runs against righties this season, but he is hitting just .208, and he should be avoided against Lynn.

Rockies | No Corey Dickerson vs. Cards

Fri, 31 Jul 2015 16:51:37 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Corey Dickerson (ribs) is not in the starting lineup Friday, July 31. OF Brandon Barnes is starting in left field and batting eighth against St. Louis Cardinals SP Michael Wacha Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Dickerson ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) can't catch a break, as he exited the game with a rib injury Thursday, July 30. Continue to check back for updates on his health. Barnes ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) would typically project as a nice low-priced target for FantasyScore players, but Wacha ($8,300, 16.6% of cap) is stringy, and you should likely look elsewhere.

Rockies | Drew Stubbs playing left field

Sun, 12 Jul 2015 11:57:38 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Drew Stubbs is batting eighth and starting in left field against Atlanta Braves SP Alex Wood Sunday, July 12. OF Brandon Barnes is receiving the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Stubbs ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) has received a few starts versus southpaws in the past week, despite batting .133 against them this season. He's not faring much better against righties, with a .139 mark through 36 at-bats. Avoid using him in FantasyScore regardless of who is on the mound.

Rockies | Brandon Barnes out Thursday

Thu, 09 Jul 2015 14:26:58 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Brandon Barnes is not in the starting lineup Thursday, July 9. OF Drew Stubbs is starting in left field and hitting eighth against Atlanta Braves SP Alex Wood.

Fantasy Tip: Stubbs ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) has had success against left-handers in the past, but he's just 4-for-30 (.133) with a home run and four RBI this year. There's potential for value here, but Stubbs is a deep sleeper at FantasyScore, and his lineup spot doesn't help his chances.

Colorado Rockies OF Drew Stubbs will start in left field and hit eighth in the lineup Tuesday, July 7, against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and LHP Andrew Heaney. OF Brandon Barnes comes out of the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Stubbs ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) is striking out in 54.0% of his plate appearances in the majors this year, and he's 0-for-6 since being re-called. FantasyScore owners don't need to give him any consideration.

Rockies | Carlos Gonzalez returns to action

Sun, 05 Jul 2015 11:51:19 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez is back in the starting lineup against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Rubby De La Rosa Sunday, July 5, batting cleanup and playing right field. OF Brandon Barnes, who played right field Saturday, July 4, is playing left field and batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Gonzalez ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) and Barnes ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) have each had success against De La Rosa, albeit with small sample sizes. Gonzalez is 2-for-4 in his career against the righty, while Barnes is 1-for-3. On the other hand, both hitters have combined to go 6-for-44 (.136) over the past week, so it's not a lock that they'll be productive in FantasyScore today.

Sat, 04 Jul 2015 15:04:32 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez is out of the lineup Saturday, July 4, against a left-handed starter. OF Brandon Barnes is hitting eighth in his place.

Fantasy Tip: Barnes ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is in a 2-for-17 slump (.118) the last seven days and isn't a good option on FantasyScore.

Rockies | Brandon Barnes taking day off

Wed, 01 Jul 2015 10:50:01 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Brandon Barnes is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, July 1. OF Rafael Ynoa is starting in left field and hitting ninth against Oakland Athletics SP Jesse Hahn.

Fantasy Tip: Ynoa ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has 20 hits in 85 at-bats (.235) this year, and he's hitting only .118 (4-for-34) with one RBI on the road in 2015. That should make you want to avoid him at all costs, especially since this start will come in the pitching-friendly O.co Coliseum.
