Baltimore Orioles OF Nelson Cruz is expected to be the team's primary designated hitter this season. He hit .266 with 27 home runs and 76 RBIs in 109 games last season with the Texas Rangers before serving a 50-game suspension for his involvement in the Biogenesis scandal.
Fantasy Tip: The ability to serve as a full-time DH should help Cruz stay healthy for the majority of the season. It could also take valuable at-bats away from Nolan Reimold if he's not playing every day in the outfield.

Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter expressed concern that OF Nolan Reimold (neck) will be ready in time for spring training. "In today's world, it's probably pretty cheap when you look at the going rate of things. If Nolan comes back 100 percent, we've got something, a pretty good deal, so I'm pulling for him. It's been a long, tough road for him," Showalter said.

Baltimore Orioles OF Nolan Reimold (neck) hopes to return from neck surgery and would like to stay with the team, although he may not be tendered a contract for the 2014 season. Reimold said that he goes to his rehab sessions two or three times a week and is having a much easier time with his recovery from neck surgery than the first procedure in 2012 that ended his season after one month. "I think I'm pretty far along," Reimold said. "The surgeon did a lot of different things that helped heal the bone faster. At this point, it's probably almost fused up, but I'm sure he's going to make absolutely sure before he says to do anything."

The Baltimore Orioles acquired RP Francisco Rodriguez from the Milwaukee Brewers Tuesday, July 23, in exchange for INF Nick Delmonico. Also, the Orioles moved OF Nolan Reimold (neck) to the 60-day disabled list in a corresponding move.
Fantasy Tip: Now that K-Rod is out of the picture in Milwaukee, we expect Jim Henderson to jump back into the closer's role, but there's also a chance that John Axford works his way back into consideration eventually. Own both in deep mixed leagues if you're speculating for saves. In Baltimore, K-Rod will be put into setup duties for Jim Johnson, so he'll lose his value as a closer.
Delmonico, 21, has the skills to hit for a decent average and nice pop at the major league level, but he may be several years away from a starting role in Milwaukee.
